To Teach:  Deut. 6:6-7 - The dictionary says (To cause to know a subject).

6. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way , when you lie down and when you rise up.


To Train: Prov. 22:6. - The dictionary says (To cause to grow as desired, to form by instruction, discipline).

6. To train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.


To Provide for: 2 Cor. 12:14 - The dictionary says (To supply what is needed).

14c. - For the children ought not to lay up for the parents but the parents for the children.


To Nurture:  Col. 3:21. - The dictionary says (To care for; feed, nourish; educate, train).

21. Fathers, do not provoke your children lest they become discouraged. (Causes them to have low self esteem). 

Eph. 6:4. - And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.


To Control:  1Tim. 3:4 - The dictionary says (To exercise restraining, directing influence over).

4. One who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all respect.


To Love: Titus 2:4 - The dictionary says (Strong affection, to feel a passion, devotion).

4. that they may admonish (warn gently) the young women to love their husbands, to love their children.


The Correction of Children: 

Prov. 13:24. - He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines promptly.

Prov. 22:15 - Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

Prov. 23:13. - Do not withhold corrections from a child. For if you discipline him with a rod he will not die.

Prov. 23:14 - You shall discipline him with a rod and deliver his soul from hell.

Prov. 29:15. - The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
