Leadership

Svend has led and developed ministries in middle school, high school, college, and young adults.  He has overseen youth conferences and worship team recordings. In 2012, God began stirring Svend’s heart to birth a church.  Through much prayer and conversations between Svend, Katy, and Pastor George, the vision to birth Lifesong Church came into focus.  Svend and Katy are blessed to be sent to Tampa by The Rock of Gainesville and look forward to representing the heartbeat of The Rock in the Tampa area.

Katy homeschooled their three sons during their early years.  In 2004 she began teaching at The Rock School as her true passion is teaching.  Along with teaching, she has served with Svend in ministry for twenty years.  Katy has led parenting workshops and has a passion to see good marriages become great marriages.  She also enjoys teaching through women's ministries.

Svend & Katy have three sons.  Scottie graduated and played basketball for the University of Florida.  He is currently playing professionally overseas. Scottie and his wife Maria enjoy traveling around the world. Mitchell graduated and played basketball for Wake Forest University.  He is currently working in the front office of an NBA team. He and his fiancé, Monica, will be married next summer.  Andrew has recently finished graduate school at Husson University in Bangor, Maine receiving his PhD of Physical Therapy.
